Greetings all, can't believe it's already December. The last six months really have been bit of a blur in my life outside of Kraken and that unfortunately translated into Kraken Hobbies running a bit on autopilot in that time. I was concerned about the future of Kraken as my real job was capitalizing so much of my time and energy, it left very little for family and the 3D business. This was compounded when several of my printers decided to have issues, some simultaneously. Repair parts were snarled up in international disputes, hours long repairs needing to be done in 15-20 minute increments as time allowed. The final insult was a computer failure that instead of doing the smart thing and just getting a new PC, weeks were spent trying to revive the old one only for it crash harder and worse than the first time. This resulted in some files being lost due to incomplete or outdated backups of print files and requiring new setups to be done further delaying order fulfillment. The site has not been updated in months, orders have been taking 2-3 times longer than they ever should and no new products have really been seeing the light of day and emails that I used to love responding to were beginning to go unanswered. I have some outstanding design partners who count on me to ensure their products are available and most importantly, I have the best customers in the world who have been patient, understanding supportive beyond expectations. The stress and worry were beginning to take its toll, and the future of Kraken was beginning to look uncertain. Then thankfully a random almost deleted email back in August turned out to be a legitimate offer of a better career path for my primary income and offering to provide me with a far better work/life balance and ultimately time to again invest in doing what I love. I will not see the full effects of this transition until mid-January of the new year, but I am already feeling more determined and excited about getting back to it, finishing catching up on my outstanding orders, producing new designs of my own and bringing more new items from my design partners. To you, my amazing customers and followers, I am truly sorry if your order has taken a ridiculous amount of time to get to you, if you wrote me an email or FB message that went without a response or if one of my announced projects has just not materialized yet. I am looking at 2026 being a resurgence for Kraken and making up any disappointments that have occurred due to my absence these last six months.
Sincerely,
Matt "Kraken" Enochs
